So maybe you should think about making your next holiday a different one. You can try and convince your other half that driving off towards the horizon is going to be the best thing that has ever happened to them. To be honest there isn’t too much to think about, just pack your stuff in the motorhome and off you go. Booking motorhome hire is a cinch, either by phone or using the internet. Then after that the choice is yours: Travel to the nearest collection point or if you arriving by air, get an airport transfer stright to your motorhome. Even though you have only just climbed aboard the motorhome, you will feel like you are on holiday straightaway.

Only a small percentage of the population can afford to buy a motorhome outright and unfortunately this probably includes you! So hiring a motorhome is the most obvious choice for the majority of us. Owning a vehicle like this costs money, more so than a car, as insurance, tax and depreciation can soon mount up. Renting one is the best option for most of us, that way we can just take off when we feel like it.

So you can see that there might be some risks if you are looking for private motorhome hire. You might get cheap campevan hire, but it might not work out in the long run. Attractive deals are often spoiled by bad business practices. This means that quite often the owner will try to put you on your insurance, or ask that you provide your own insurance. This might work out fine when you are hiring a scooter on the island of Kos, but for a motorhome that is going to transport you and your family – is that what you need?.

Hopefully any summer holiday will be accompanied by lots of warm weather. Obviously if you are planning to go to the top end of Norway or it rains like it did in the UK in 2012, then you may need to turn on the heating system. Luckily you have your own heating system that can be used any time. At the the flick of a switch you have instant heating even when the engine is not running. Thanks to the many built in safeguards gas systems are very safe.

So are you ready to give motorhoming a go? Maybe just try hiring for a weekend and go and see some old friends. Don’t worry about the size of the vehicle, you get used to that very quickly. Do be aware though that motorhomes are addictive, once you have had your little break you will be planning your next trip as soon as you get home. The holiday begins when the journey starts, not when you get there.
