If you’re looking for a magical family holiday – without the huge cost or travel time – consider one of the many park holidays Devon on offer. Devon is an amazing choice for families of all sizes, with all kinds of interests – there really is something for everyone in Devon! Devon is well connected to various motorways, and public transport links, so getting there shouldn’t be a problem – and if you’re coming from the UK, there’s no need to endure air travel with children! Read on to find out about the best hidden gems you can discover while on your park holiday adventure to Devon!

Amazing Fish Restaurants

When visiting the coast, it’s natural to want to try all the amazing cuisines that originate there – namely, a lot of gorgeous fish! Luckily, Devon is full of quirky fish restaurants serving up fresh catches of the day. Try out The Glorious Oyster, The Dock, or Britannia @ The Beach for some incredible fresh fish – grab a seafood platter, or the best fish and chips you’ve ever had! One of the hallmarks of any good holiday is the amazing, local grub you got to try while there, and Devon surely won’t disappoint. Make sure to grab a traditional Devonshire cream tea, too!

Interesting Sights On The Coastline

Due to Devon’s rich history, there are plenty of interesting sights to take in while you walk along the coast, or through the centre of town. For example, the Hallsands Ruins are fishing cottages that have been attacked by decades of erosion and are extremely interesting to explore. You can also visit the Hele Corn Mill, a 16th century watermill that produces the flour that goes into all the Devonshire cream teas you will no doubt be sampling! There are plenty of outside activities great for keeping kids entertained, getting them out in nature, and showing them how the coast interacts with our daily lives. As well as a place for intrigue and adventure, Devon is definitely an interactive, informative holiday, that helps children learn about the nature around us, and our delicate ecosystems.

Adorable Independent Stores

Want to pick up a souvenir to take home for friends and family? Luckily, there are plenty of independent shops in Devon where you can pick unique gifts and souvenirs. Devon has all the regular amenities you require and would expect from any town, but has the benefit of being host to a wide range of more unique and quirky businesses, too. So if you love looking around interesting stores, Devon couldn’t be more perfect for you!

Incredible Beaches & Outdoors Areas

Of course, the main draw of Devon for families is the incredible amount of outside activities available. We all know small children have a lot of expendable energy, and the best way to utilise this is to go outside! Devon has amazing options for the whole family – so make sure your next trip away is a park holiday to Devon!
